Portfolio
A selection of advocacy, education, storytelling, and creative projects focused on translating complex issues into clarity, visibility, and impact.
TARLOV CYST DISEASE – EDUCATION KIT

A comprehensive, evidence-based education kit designed to help clinicians and patients recognize and understand symptomatic Tarlov Cyst Disease. This project translates published research and lived patient experience into practical clinical tools that support diagnosis, clear communication, and informed care pathways.
The kit includes educational materials, diagnostic guidance, research summaries, and awareness tools, all presented in a clean, professional design anchored in accuracy and accessibility.
TARLOV CYST SOCIETY – BROCHURE
A clear, accessible introduction to Tarlov Cyst Disease and its common comorbidities. This brochure explains complex medical information in plain language without sacrificing accuracy.
Designed for clinics, waiting rooms, education kits, and awareness events, it provides patients and clinicians with a quick, reliable overview of a condition that is frequently misunderstood or overlooked.
TARLOV CYST SOCIETY DIAGNOSTIC POSTER

A simplified diagnostic protocol poster developed using peer-reviewed, published research. This resource outlines key steps required to determine whether a Tarlov cyst is symptomatic.
Created to support clinicians in making consistent, evidence-informed evaluations, the poster addresses a major gap in diagnostic clarity and reporting.
Faces of Tarlov – Awareness Campaign

A storytelling campaign that places patients at the center of the conversation. Each card introduces an individual living with Tarlov Cyst Disease, highlighting symptoms, diagnostic delays, and the impact on daily life.
This campaign humanizes a largely invisible condition, challenges persistent misconceptions, and brings visibility to a patient community that has been overlooked for decades.
Brand Development & Identity – Tarlov Cyst Society

I developed the brand identity for the Tarlov Cyst Society from the ground up, creating a professional, research-anchored presence designed to educate, advocate, and empower.
My work includes messaging, visual identity, educational materials, digital content, and a patient-centered communication style that makes complex research accessible. The brand is now recognized internationally as a trusted source of accurate, evidence-based information on Tarlov Cyst Disease.
Vote Out Poverty – Video Production
A short, documentary-style advocacy video produced during my Broadcast Journalism training (2008 – High Honors) at Sheridan College’s School of Animation, Arts & Design.
This project combines field reporting, interviews, scriptwriting, and post-production editing to deliver a focused, impactful message. It represents the foundation of my advocacy-driven multimedia work.
Sitting Shouldn’t Hurt- Awareness Campaign
Pain when sitting is the most common and defining symptom of Tarlov Cyst Disease, particularly for patients with sacral cysts. Despite its severity, this symptom is frequently minimized or dismissed due to outdated clinical assumptions.
I developed the “Sitting Shouldn’t Hurt” campaign to challenge this misconception and draw attention to an everyday activity that should not cause disabling pain. The campaign connects relatable messaging with medical reality, reframing how this symptom is understood by patients, clinicians, and the public.
Sticker Graphics

Created as part of a public education and myth-busting effort, this sticker delivers a single, evidence-based fact drawn from published research. Bold typography and high-contrast design were used intentionally to interrupt assumptions and provoke curiosity.
This project demonstrates my ability to translate peer-reviewed medical research into clear, accessible, visually compelling messaging.
Steven Bray Bio- Video Production
A short biographical video produced during my Broadcast Journalism training (2008 – High Honors) at Sheridan College’s School of Animation, Arts & Design.
This project blends interviews, field footage, scriptwriting, and editing to tell a focused human story, demonstrating early strengths in visual storytelling and narrative structure.
